Gypsy-chick journeys

                                                              Yakima * 2011

There was a few months in the winter of 1986-87 when I actually lived in Grandview (at the home of the woman whose funeral I attended). Having just moved from the big city of Manhattan a year earlier, I had no clue what I was in for. I barely got over the culture shock of living in Renton when I was invited to spend time in an even more remote part of the state. Talk about climbing the walls! Okay it was Mars with a few farms and houses...covered in snow and ice...but I digress. There was nothing to do!! I won't knock Yakima though they have wineries and apples and all kinds of awesome things come out of this section of Washington. Since I'm older now, I can appreciate it more. -OTA
