Always magnificent when seen from the air...with or without clouds.
This was opposite another cool little board that read "Santa Fe, The City Different". I agree with both!
I enjoyed sitting out here occasionally and listening to the water fountain trickle.
The view from my Casita provided a feeling of yesteryear, when the adobe edifices were first built. I have a fondness for these colors too.
Each suite had a name, mine was Trujillo a studio size with very cozy bed, nice TV & decorated with local flavor.
I was reminded here of late afternoons in the Bronx. Some of the buildings there were seen from an alley view like this one.
Sanctuario De Guadalupe
This is one of several chapels in "downtown" Santa Fe.
A nice big sign invites tourists to see the (still unsolved) mystery staircase. And tourists were many in S.Fe. www.lorettochapel.com/staircase.html
Aside from the staircase which is the primary "attraction" the rest of the chapel is very beautiful with carvings, statues & stained glass windows.
Built with no nails, it is self sustaining vertically. The unknown builder used wood materials not found locally. It is truly a work of art.
As I wandered town, I eventually found myself in conversation over a latte & admiring local art at the Liquid Outpost.
La Fonda History
I heard the building might be haunted but not much else. This book is sold in the hotel lobby, so I learned it is another very old building.
I shot some photos @ LaFonda for the beauty & details...but also hoped to catch an orb! :)
This is a park smack in the middle of Santa Fe that is frequented daily. At the time of this pic, booths were being closed at the end of a weekend-long Fiesta.
This is located on Cathedral Way, a main arterial leading to one of the freeways. Beautiful at sunset!
I Love Adobe!
This is one of my favorite photos for it's simplicity, color, composition and authenticity. I really FEEL New Mexico in this one.
